Allowances

Filed under: Uncategorized — andykiff @ 6:51 pm

Judges 7:10 But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant.11 And you shall hear what they say, and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.

Despite all the assurances Gideon had and the miracles he’d witnessed, he still had a tough task ahead of him.  He had to take on the Midianite army with just 300 men so that everyone would know that it was the God of Israel who deserved the glory.

You are the Almighty God and could quite easily have said, “I am with You, go do what I’ve commanded”.  Instead You allowed for Gideon’s weakness in the area of doubt and You gave him an opportunity to hear something that would strengthen his faith.  Thank You that You make allowances for my weaknesses but don’t allow me to use them as an excuse.

  2. Purah had a steroid testimony. I pray that the words out of my mouth today makes others feel stronger in the Lord. (& complaints won’t do that, being overcritical won’t either) Not only my words, but my tone & body language also.
