Love your enemies

2 Kings 5:2 Now the Syrians on one of their raids had carried off a little girl from the land of Israel, and she worked in the service of Naaman’s wife.3 She said to her mistress, Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.

If anyone had a right to resent Naaman and the Syrian army it was this girl.  She’d been carried off from her home, maybe seen her parents killed, taken to a foreign country and forced to work for the wife of the man responsible for al this.  I could understand if she was glad that Naaman had leprosy in return for what he’d done to her.

Instead she did something amazing.  She showed love to her captor.  He had a need and she did what she could to meet it by telling him about Elisha.  Through the slave girl speaking out, Naaman was healed.

What a challenge to share You with everyone, no matter how I feel about them.
