Not out but through

Filed under: Uncategorized — andykiff @ 11:08 pm

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

It’s not an easy word to hear sometimes: “No, I won’t rescue you from this situation”. Whatever Paul was suffering with, he asked to be delivered from it three times. The answer was no. What he received instead was a promise of grace that would be enough to see him through.

Given the choice of ‘deliverance from’ or ‘grace through’, I think I’d more naturally go for the first. The second though is where I truly learn to lean on You and receive Your amazing grace. Lord give me a humble spirit to accept Your ‘no’ and to trust in Your provision to get me through.

  1. This verse has carried me thru the toughest 2 years of my life, after becoming I’ll with a rare condition that most do not understand. After losing touch w friends and losing a fiancée bc of the changes. GOD came to get me…almost literally! He brought me from years of anger at God, to the most amazing and fulfilling relationship that has made my faith like a rock. When no one was left, he was there. So my humbled self turned to him everyday. He has never let me down! Use this journey as an opportunity, (and I DO realize that is easier said than done, I’ve learned to just pray at those lowest of times). Mel

  2. I’m going through a similiar situation or feeling, and this verse could not have come at a more perfect time. Thank you all for sharing! And Father as I wander in the wilderness of life I pray that you grant me the same grace that you’ve given to these others to make it through! I pray that you give me the strength and endurance until my victories are won, because I am leaning on your promises that all things are possible and that your grace is indeed sufficient!

  3. His grace is indeed sufficient. As I go through my present trouble I find peace in this scripture. I also find peace resting in the promise od Romans 8:28. I am thankful to God for my his grace!
