A god that eats grass

Filed under: Uncategorized — andykiff @ 6:36 pm

Psalm 106:20  They exchanged their glorious God for a statue of a bull that eats grass.

It sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it?  After describing how the Israelites were led through the Red Sea and delivered from slavery, the psalmist details their decline.  This verse brilliantly sums up how they quickly forgot everything that You’d done for them.

Ridiculous, but believable – even familiar.  How often do I rely on, trust in and devote myself to things that are as able to help me as a god that eats grass?  Money, gadgets, cars, even people – nothing deserves my worship but You.  Help me to remember all You’ve done for me and to live a thankful life.
