Not drowning

Filed under: Uncategorized — andykiff @ 11:16 pm

Matthew 14:29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus.30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Peter didn’t have to pray for the faith to walk on water.  He was commanded by Jesus and he just did it.  The only time he had to pray for help was when he took his eyes off Jesus and began to be overwhelmed by his circumstances.  At no point was he actually going to drown.  While he was simply heading towards Jesus he simply walked across the water.  When he was distracted and began to sink he was lifted up.

Thank You Lord that You lift me up when I call to You for help.  Give me faith to respond to You simply and quickly rather than always looking at the obstacles.  I know You will rescue me whatever I’m facing but I want to live a life of faith, not fear.
