Isaiah 64:1 Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down,
that the mountains might quake at your presence—

This seems like quite a risky prayer, as is any request for You to demonstrate Your power.  To ask You to rend the heavens, to split the skies open and come down – this isn’t a polite request for You to come and live in my heart.  Who knows what damage may done and what the terrible consequences may be?  But in praying this, Isaiah had no concern for his own comfort and security.  He just wanted You to be known across the world for exactly who You are.

I don’t want to be full of “bless me” prayers.  I want to be demanding “glorify Your Name”, whatever the cost to me.  Whether I’m blessed or I suffer in the fallout, it shouldn’t matter. You should be enough for me.  You made known across the earth should be my concern.

Lord save me from self-focus and give me a zeal for Your fame.
