More than miracles

Filed under: Uncategorized — andykiff @ 6:58 pm

Acts 4:14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

Miracles are great and I wish I saw more of them.  They’re of life-changing benefit to the person on the receiving end and they demonstrate Your power to people who don’t believe in You.  At least, that’s how it works in my head.  In reality, miracles never seem to have brought masses of people to You.

The crowds that followed Jesus saw no end of fantastic signs and yet they’d almost all deserted him by the time he was led out to be crucified.  The Pharisees couldn’t deny that the man standing before them had been miraculously healed but it didn’t lead them to true faith in You.  Instead, they tried to hush it up.  It challenged their belief system too much so they pretended it didn’t happen.  The only person that seemed to be changed by the event was the man who was healed.

The real wonder that You work is one that isn’t visible.  It’s not something that would draw great crowds but it is of profound and everlasting significance.  You can soften hearts and minds to be receptive to Your love.  You change eternity one person at a time.  That is the true miracle.

Thank You Lord that You have saved me.  I pray that You will soften the hearts of everyone that I speak to about You, to receive Your word and let it change them forver.
